Year Established 1982 Year began managing US Tax Exempt Accounts 1983 Year began managing Real Estate Separate Accounts 1983 The Clarion organization provides a broad array of public and private market real estate advisory and management services to institutional investors, primarily U.S. pension funds. Founded in 1982, Clarion is a national organization with almost 480 employees located in major markets across the country. Clarion has increased its base of core assets under management each year since inception by constructing new portfolios for separate account clients, by taking over assets acquired by others, and by developing a series of commingled funds, each with a specific strategy and risk parameters. Clarion’s ability to select and intensively manage client assets has established the firm’s above-benchmark track record. Today, the Clarion organization manages more than $10.4 billion in real estate assets, both in the private and the public sectors through four affiliates: Clarion Partners (1982) – directly owned properties, primarily office, retail, industrial and multi-family assets. Clarion Partners manages $7.2 billion in direct real estate investments in both separate accounts and commingled funds; Clarion CRA Securities (1995) - public real estate equities, primarily REIT stocks. CRA has $1.8 billion under management, and a performance track record substantially above industry benchmarks; Clarion Capital(1995) - commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) with over $700 million under management, plus an additional $750 million under oversight management. Clarion Capital has generated returns well above market indices, and Clarion Realty Services (1990) - property management and leasing services for 15 million square feet of income-producing space in four major property types, owned by Clarion’s investment clients. In December 1982, Clarion registered with the SEC and separate account management was initiated the following year.
