Al Frank Asset Management, Inc History

Al Frank Asset Management, Inc. (AFAMI) has provided asset management services to individuals and institutional investors since 1977. The company manages the Al Frank Fund (VALUX)and the Al Frank Dividend Value Fund. The firm also publishes The Prudent Speculator investment newsletter. Understanding the Al Frank investment philosophy is your first step toward becoming comfortable with investing at AFAMI. Our philosophy is more than simply a strategy, it's our credo for managing money - we attempt to buy undervalued shares and hold them in a widely diversified portfolio for long-term potential appreciation. Our investment philosophy is founded on: PATIENCE - We wait for the right stock, for the right price to buy, and for the right time to sell. DIVERSIFICATION - We own stocks of many different companies and industries and we hold positions as long as our analysis indicates they are undervalued and offer appreciation potential. SELECTION - Successful stock selection comes by systematically analyzing corporate financial fundamentals as well as evaluating valuations. This involves number crunching. We screen more than 6,000 companies looking for stocks that appear undervalued relative to what our analysis indicates they should be worth over the next five years. While Patience, Diversification and Selection go a long way toward lowering risk, we do attempt to become less aggressive when markets are overbought or overvalued and thus likely to decline, and we seek to become more assertive when markets are undervalued and oversold and thus likely to advance. Our basic practice is "Buy Low, Hold, and Sell High". AFAMI generally believes that patiently holding a broadly diversified portfolio of undervalued stocks is the key to investment success and will continue to provide superior long-term investment returns.
