Bahl & Gaynor Investment Counsel, Inc., History

Bahl & Gaynor was formed as a Registered Investment Advisor in Cincinnati, Ohio, on

July 2, 1990, by the two senior principals, William F. Bahl, CFA, CIC and Vere W. Gaynor.

Mr. Bahl was the Chief Investment Officer for Northern Trust Company. Mr. Gaynor was the Managing Director for Scudder, Stevens & Clark’s Cincinnati office. Both gentlemen were industry veterans who desired to work together in an environment focused solely on the client. The firm’s singular goal is meeting – and exceeding – our clients’ investment needs.

They formed Bahl & Gaynor Investment Counsel, Inc., with the intent of offering a well defined investment philosophy of dividend growth, which emphasizes the long-term advantages of high-quality companies that grow their earnings – and dividends – regularly.

This discipline has been quite successful over the past 28 years and has allowed the firm to grow to 45 employees and manage approximately $25.35B* for institutional and high net worth clients.

Each Bahl & Gaynor Portfolio Manager has several years of investment experience, many at some of the top national investment firms. We believe it is of the utmost importance for our investment professionals to have weathered recessions and experienced complete investment cycles, so they acquire a balanced, long-term perspective that is crucial to success in this business.

Bahl & Gaynor is located at 255 East Fifth Street, Suite 2700, Cincinnati, OH 45202. All 45 team members are centrally located and perform all aspects of Bahl & Gaynor’s business at this location.
